Pulsed X-ray technology
Golden Engineering X-ray generators are based on Pulsed X-ray technology. Pulsed X-rays generate a high intensity X-ray burst (pulse) in a very short period of time (10 to 50 nanoseconds depending on the model). The output dose of each pulse is 3-6 mR measured 12 inches from the front of the X-ray generator. The operator varies the overall dose of each exposure by changing the pulse setting. The pulse rate varies from 10 pulses per second to 25 pulses per second depending on the model. The generators can fire up to 200 pulses before a four-minute rest period.

Common analog and digital modulations, sweep and burst are provided to support complex signal generation. The T3AFG series also provides true dual channels with internal waveform combination, flexible phase/channel control and copy/coupling/tracking between channels. These features enable Teledyne Test Tools Arbitrary Waveform Generators to provide a variety of high fidelity and low jitter signals, meeting the growing requirements of complex and intensive applications.

Range-Doppler Target Generators

The ATG-9100 is an example of a laboratory-quality instrument that will simulate complex target motion. Microwave signals from the speed camera enter the instrument through an integrated antenna which is then downconverted and digitized. Target simulation data is added to the digitized signal to provide range and Doppler information. The modified digital data is then converted back to an IF and upconverted to the original microwave frequency of the speed camera and radiated back through the antenna. Since the ATG-9100 can be phase-locked to an external 10 MHz reference standard, this instrument is suitable for use as a calibration standard for speed cameras.
